CIA in-charge inspector Rajesh Sharma said when he, along with the CIA team, was conducting a patrolling in Transport Nagar, he got a tip-off that the suspect, who was into heroin smuggling trade, was carrying heroin to be delivered to his client in the city. Following which, the CIA team conducted a raid and nabbed the man along with the drug. The police also seized Rs 17,000 drug money, one digital weighing machine and a motorcycle from him.

During investigation, it came to the fore that the suspect also has a criminal past as a case of drug smuggling was registered against him at Police Division 6 in March this year and he had come out on bail in April and again started the illegal trade.
