MP Arora attends meeting to review renovation, upgrade of Civil Hospital

Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Sanjeev Arora presided over a meeting of government officials from various departments including Health, Punjab Health System Corporation, PWD, district administration, contractors, and others at the Civil Hospital here to review the ongoing work of renovation and upgrade of the hospital.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included MLA Ashok Parashar Pappi, Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sahwney, ADC Anmol Singh Dhaliwal, Civil Surgeon Dr Pardeep Kumar Mohindra, and Senior Medical Officer Dr Harpreet Singh.
Speaking on the occasion, Arora directed the private contractors and others concerned to speed up the development and renovation works including laying of new sewage system, water proofing, tiling, pavement of roads, washrooms and wall painting.
Arora also enquired about two lifts, which have started operating recently after a gap of about 12 years. These lifts were faulty and non-functional.
He assured that new high-tech equipment will be procured based on the needs of doctors to ensure that patients can get all healthcare services under one roof.
Arora asked the hospital authorities to take maximum advantage of Ayushman Scheme. He expressed his concern over the incidents of thefts taking place in the premises of Civil Hospital.
The working of private parking contractors in the hospital also figured in the meeting with the MP asking for strict action if services are not up to mark. He asked the SMO to send a detailed report to this effect to the DC.
The MP announced to arrange five water coolers and asked the hospital authorities to ensure proper cleanliness and hygiene in the hospital. He said the state government is making efforts to fill vacant posts of staff at the hospital.
