Since the announcement of the municipal corporation elections there has been a noticeable spurt in the activities of area MLAs — developmental projects are being inaugurated on a daily basis. On Tuesday, three MLAs, Kulwant Singh Sidhu, Ashok Prashar, and Madan Lal Bagga inaugurated projects worth crores in different parts of the city.

Atam Nagar MLA Kulwant Singh Sidhu inaugurated a project to install interlocking tiles in the Punjabi Bagh area (new Ward 50) on Tuesday.

The project is being taken up at a cost of around 92 lakh and the interlocking tiles would be installed on the roadsides.

Ludhiana North MLA Madan Lal Bagga kick-starts a project at Gurnam Nagar.

MLA Sidhu said a large number of development projects were being taken up in Atam Nagar constituency for developing quality infrastructure and facilitating the residents.

Working to improve road infrastructure in the constituency, Ludhiana North MLA Madan Lal Bagga kick-started the project to reconstruct the streets of Gurnam Nagar (Ward 95) on Jassian road today.

Under this project, concrete streets would be constructed at a cost of around Rs 55 lakh.

MLA Bagga said that projects worth crores had been completed in Ludhiana North constituency and more projects were underway for developing quality infrastructure across the North constituency.

MLA Bagga added more development projects would be inaugurated over the coming days.

For upgrading road infrastructure, Ludhiana Central MLA Ashok Parashar Pappi today inaugurated projects for installing interlocking tiles in different areas of Ward 83 and 84.

Firstly, MLA Parashar inaugurated a project, costing Rs 13.90 lakh, to install interlocking tiles in Maleri gali and adjoining streets (Ward 84). Further, MLA Parashar inaugurated a project to install interlocking tiles in streets of Saban Bazar and Kucha Beli Ram at a cost of Rs 18.58 lakh and Rs 36 lakh respectively. Both the areas fall under ward number 83 (old ward number 61).

Later, MLA Parashar inaugurated a project to repair the garbage dump near Bajwa nagar cremation ground. The project is being taken up at a cost of around Rs 12.69 lakh.

MLA Parashar said that projects worth over Rs 4 crore had been inaugurated over the last four days and more would be launched soon.
