Minor raped at Amritsar hotel, man booked

A minor was allegedly raped by a 38-year-old man at a hotel near Golden Temple in Amritsar on the intervening night of August 1 and 2. A zero FIR has been registered against the suspect, who is still evading police custody.
The father of the 14-year old girl complained to the Sahnewal police that his daughter went missing on August 1. He, along with his family, searched for her but to no avail.
He said the next day she was found standing near Dhillon Chowk here. Later, she told her parents that she had gone with a man, Raj Kumar. He took her to Amritsar and raped her in a hotel on the intervening night of August 1 and 2. Later, he dropped her in Ludhiana and fled the place.
The Sahnewal police have registered a zero FIR against the man. “After registering the FIR, the case has been forwarded to the Amritsar police,” said SHO Jagdev Singh. — TNS
