Man hit by rashly driven car, dies
Ludhiana, July 6
A man returning to his home at Mullanpur Dakha was hit by a rashly driven car on the Raikot road. He died due to serious injuries in front of his son who was also accompanying him.
The deceased was identified as Mukhtiyar Singh, a resident of Hissowal village.
Manjeet Singh, a resident of Hissowal, told the police that on July 4, he, along with his father, had come to Mandi Mullanpur for some work and after finishing the same, they were walking towards home. When they reached near New Dana Mandi on the Raikot road, a speeding car hit his father from the rear. His father suffered serious head injuries in the accident. He took the victim to a nearby hospital with the help of passers-by. Doctors after giving first aid treatment, shifted his father to some other hospital in Ludhiana due to the critical condition of his father, where during treatment he breathed his last.
The police yesterday registered a case against the unidentified car driver
at the Dakha police station and started further investigation.
Investigating officer ASI Kuldeep Singh said CCTV cameras in the area and nearby places were being scanned to get any clue about the errant car driver.
