Ludhiana MC, LIT raze illegal structures in Transport Nagar

Acting against illegal constructions, the Municipal Corporation (MC), Ludhiana, demolished an under-construction illegal hall and a shop on government land in the Transport Nagar area on Monday. The action was taken by a joint team of the MC and Ludhiana Improvement Trust (LIT).

Further, the civic body team razed around 15 temporary and permanent encroachments on the road portion in Ghoda Colony. Both sites fall under the Zone B of the MC.

The Zone D team of the MC also demolished an under-construction illegal shop on the Chaar Khamba road in the Model Town area.

Civic body officials stated that the drive against illegal constructions was conducted on the directions of MC Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal.

Assistant Town Planner (ATP), Zone B, Davinder Singh, said the LIT had recently highlighted that someone was trying to encroach upon the government land in Transport Nagar and illegal construction was going on at the site. The area was also demarcated by the LIT, following which action was taken against the illegal construction by a joint team of the MC and LIT on Monday.

Speaking about the action-taken against illegal construction in Model Town, Building inspector Paulparneet Singh said the civic body had received a complaint against the same, following which action was taken on Monday.
