Ludhiana DC reviews status of stubble burning cases, actions
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Jitendra Jorwal urged farmers to collaborate with the district administration and the state government to protect the environment from the harmful effects of stubble-burning.
During a review of the current status of stubble-burning cases and the actions taken so far, Jorwal emphasized that stubble burning damages both the environment and soil fertility by releasing particulate matter and depleting essential soil nutrients. He stressed the importance of closely monitoring farm fire cases, ensuring accurate reporting and verification, and educating farmers about the dangers of stubble burning.
The DC reiterated that it was a shared responsibility to combat stubble-burning, highlighting that every farmer played a crucial role in protecting the environment. He noted the administration had provided 8,978 machines to farmers through various channels to ensure the farmers managed the stubble effectively.
Jorwal also encouraged progressive farmers to spread the message of the anti-stubble burning campaign in their communities to promote a cleaner environment for a sustainable future.
