Bankiranjit Kaur emerged the fastest runner, winning the 100m sprint in the girls’ U-17 category in the ongoing block-level games of the third edition of Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan being organised by the Punjab Sports Department under the aegis of Sports and Youth Services, Punjab, with the help of district administration at different venues across the district on Tuesday.

At Kila Raipur stadium in Dehlon block, Bankiranjit was followed by Amanjot Kaur at the second place and Armaanpreet Kaur at the third spot and in the boys’ U-17 section, Jaskaran Singh fetched the top position in 100m race and Harmandeep Singh secured the second position while Jasmeet Singh finished at the third place.

In football (boys’ U-14), Government Senior Secondary School, Butari village, beat Drishti Public School, Narangwal, 1-0 to emerge winners and in kabaddi (circle style), Saiyan village came out triumphant in the boys section and Mukandpur village secured the runners-up trophy.

In 400m race (boys’ U-17), Armaan Singh, in 100m race, Gagandeep Singh, in 1,500m race, Asis Singh and Ranvijay Singh (shot put) emerged victorious while in the boys U-21 group, Metab Singh (100m race), Paramvir Singh (400m race) romped home.
