Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) Kisan Mela continued to inspire and showcase the talents of farmers from across the state. The crop competitions during the mela, that concluded the day before, drew attention as outstanding farmers were recognised for their hard work and dedication.

In the onion category, Jasdeep Singh from Ramiana, Faridkot, won the first prize, while Jatinder Singh from Bhamri, Gurdaspur, claimed the second prize. Dalip Singh from Dhilwan, Faridkot, took home the first prize in the garlic category. Amarjit Singh from Bargari, Faridkot, won the gourd (tori) category, while Jugrajpreet Singh from Galib Kalan, Ludhiana, bagged the first prize in the bitter gourd category.

In the okra (bhindi) category, Manpreet Singh from Khumna, Fatehgarh Sahib, secured the first place. Raghu Raj Singh from Nagra, Sangrur, won the first prize for colocasia (arbi).

Rajvir Kaur from Baliyaa, Sangrur, claimed the first prize in the brinjal (baingan) category, and Ashish Ahuja, from Modi Khera, Fazilka, won the first prize in the chilli (mirch) category.

In the gourd (ghiya) competition, Kashmir Chand from Lotiya Wala, Fazilka, secured the first place, while Amandeep Singh from Jand Wala, Fazilka, stood second.

Manjit Singh Ghumman from Nagra, Sangrur, won the first prize in the cowpea (lobia) category. Gurpreet Singh from Patti Sadiq, Abohar, Fazilka, claimed the first prize in cotton category. The sugarcane category saw Vikas Bhadu from Varyaam Khera, Fazilka, win the first prize.

In the stall competition, M/S Kubota Tractors from Kubota Machinery India Pvt Ltd, Chennai, won the first prize in the tractors and machinery category. M/S Saron Mechanical Works from Cheema Mandi, Sangrur, claimed the first prize for tractor-driven implements, while M/S National Agro Industries from Ludhiana won in the electric motors, engines, and tools category.

M/S Sonalika from Ludhiana took the top spot in the water-saving tools and machines category. M/S KC Marketing Company from Ludhiana won the first prize for agro-processing machinery, while M/S National Fertilizers Limited from Ludhiana won in the fertilizers category. M/S Bayer Crop Science from Chandigarh took the first prize in the pesticides category.

The PAU Field Demonstrations saw the Department of Vegetable Science claim the first prize, with the Department of Entomology coming in second. Among Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), Punjab Naujwan Sanstha of FASC Bathinda took the first place, while FASC Gurdaspur came second.

In the self-help groups and entrepreneurs category, Ravinder Kaur of Kitchen Queen Self Help Group, Ludhiana, took the first prize, with Madhu Mohan of Virsaa Agro from Pathankot coming in second.
