Hockey players from Punjab, members of the Indian team, who matched their Tokyo 2020 success with the bronze in Paris Olympics in August, this year, were felicitated at a function, held here on Thursday. The special function was hosted by Parmeshari Silk Mills Limited, widely known as Ramtex, a leading name in the textile industry, to celebrate athletes’ remarkable achievement, including their impressive back-to-back bronze medal wins.

With a large number of attendees, including the players and their families, the function was organised to acknowledge the contributions of these athletes to the sport and their central role in bringing pride to the nation through their stellar performances on the Olympic stage.

Jatinder Pal Singh, CMD, Ramtex and Maninder Singh presented 24-carat 10 gm gold coin to each player, as a token of gratitude for players’ outstanding achievement and dedication.

Players, who were felicitated, include Harmanpreet Singh (captain), Shamsher Singh, Gurjant Singh, Mandeep Singh, Jugraj Singh, Arjeet Singh Hundal, Gurjot Singh and Sukhjeet Singh.

Talking to The Tribune, Harmanpreet said they were proud of team’s achievement and grateful for the recognition.
