Farm leader and Sanyukta Kisan Morcha (Non-political) chief Jagjit Singh Dallewal was taken to Khanauri after his discharge from DMC Hospital here on Friday evening. Several farm leaders, including Sarwan Singh Pandher, had reached the hospital to receive him.

Addressing the media at hospital, Dallewal claimed he was not admitted to the hospital, but was detained there. The CM played a shrewd role in connivance with the Centre by detaining him in a hospital with a motive to damage the farmers’ agitation.

“Since I had announced to start an indefinite fast for the sake of farmers, I did not eat anything even in the hospital. Police officials and other persons lobbying at the behest of the government tried to convince me to break my fast, but I didn’t. I am going to Khanauri now and will continue my fast there,” Dallewal said.

“The bulletin released by the hospital authorities about my health was a complete lie. The day I was taken to the hospital, I didn’t undergo any medical test. I even refused to get my blood pressure measured or blood samples taken. I am quite hale and hearty,” he said.
