Ludhiana-born model-turned-actor Prabh Grewal is excited about her upcoming Punjabi untitled film, which is directed by Ksshitij Chaudhary. Prabh, who is currently shooting in Jaisalmer, talks about her career, shooting with new guidelines and more…

• The shooting has begun amid the new normal. What precautions are you taking on the personal front?

We are following the government instructions strictly. We wear masks on the sets and we try to maintain distance while behind the camera.

• You have done Punjabi films like Jindari, Kake Da Viyah; South-Indian films and music videos. How has been the experience?

Acting is my passion and I really enjoy my work but struggle is a phase which one can’t escape.

• How has been your shooting experience in Jaisalmer with your co-stars Tarsem Jassar and Ranjit Bawa?

It was a great opportunity to work and celebrate the New Year with the team in Jaisalmer. Tarsem Jassar and Råñjit Båwä both are stalwarts but down to earth at the same time.

• You have been applauded for your performance in films. Did you foresee this happening when you started your career in the industry?

I am thankful to the Almighty. I always get love and praise for my work. My family has supported me all the way.

• What is the one quality which has helped you in your career?

To be always clear aboutmy goals.

• How do you view Pollywood?

Punjabi cinema is now giving competition to Bollywood films.

• You are working with number one Pollywood director—Ksshitij Chaudhary. How do you see him as a director?

I am not competent enough to judge him as I am still learning the craft. But he is really a cool person and has a clear vision. I love his movie concepts.

• Do you follow a fitness regime?

Not exactly.

• One thing about the Punjabis that you like the most?

Their positive attitude in every situation

• Your all-time favourite Punjabi songs?

There are so many.

• How are you keeping yourself fit these days?

I go for a morning walk and do cycling to keep myself fit.

• One food item you cannot resist?

Stuffed karela masala cooked by my mother.

• You are obsessed with?

My goals.

• Define Prabh Grewal?

I am a simple Punjabi girl who can’t hurt anyone. I am also spiritual and believe in Ek noor te sab jag upjaya…
