Guv advocates quality education for women
Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria on Monday emphasised the importance of quality education as a pathway to bring out the potential of women, enabling them to contribute significantly to societal progress through their diverse skills.
Presiding over the founder’s day celebrations of Shri Guru Hargobind Ujagar Hari Trust at Sidhwan Khurd near here, the Governor highlighted that women possessed innate abilities for multitasking and that through education and equal involvement in decision-making processes, they could serve as beacons for the community.
Referring to Harparkash Kaur, one of the trust’s founders, Governor Kataria pointed out that educated women left a lasting impact on society and inspired others to emulate their example. Starting with just four students under a tree in 1909, the institution has grown to educate over 5,000 students.
Kataria also stressed the need for increased opportunities for women to further their achievements. He encouraged young women to emulate Harparkash Kaur’s mission to promote education among girls. He praised the teachers as the architects of the nation, acknowledging their significant responsibility in fostering values, discipline, and leadership qualities in students to contribute to India’s prosperity.
Additionally, he also honoured the students from the institutions run by the trust for their achievements.
Trustees Dr Gurinder Singh Grewal, Pritam Singh Johal, Jarnail Singh Dhillon, Davinder Singh Mann and others felicitated the Governor.
