Gurusar Sudhar team secured the first position in football in the girls’ U-21 section in the ongoing district-level games of the third edition of Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan, being organised by the Punjab Sports Department under the aegis of Sports and Youth Services, Punjab, with assistance of the district administration at different venues across the district on Tuesday.

In football, at the Punjab Agricultural University ground, Machhiwara ‘A’ team finished as the first runners-up and Dehlon ‘A’ team got the third position.

In handball (girls’ U-14), PAU Club emerged the winners while BVM School, Kitchlu Nagar branch, and Government Senior Secondary School, Katani Kalan, secured the second and third place, respectively, and in the girls’ U-17 category, PAU Club got the top position while GAD Academy and DAV Public School, Pakhowal road branch, finished as the first and second runners-up, respectively.

In the girls’ U-21 section, PAU Club, PAU Campus team and Amrit Indo Canadian Academy secured the top three positions.

In volleyball (smashing) for girls’ U-14 section, Government Senior Secondary School, Gidharwindi village came out triumphant. USPC Jain Public School secured the second position and Guru Nanak Stadium team finished at the third spot.

In the girls’ U-17 group, Government Senior Secondary School, Gidharwindi village, emerged champions while Spring Dale Public School and Guru Nanak Stadium team secured the second and third position, respectively.

In the girls’ U-21 section, Guru Nanak Stadium team, Government Senior Secondary School, Gidharwindi village and Delhi Public School, Khanna secured the first, second and third position, respectively.

In athletics, at Guru Nanak Stadium, Akalroop Kaur of Doraha won first position in 200m race for girls U-14 section while Gurleen Kaur of Raikot got second position and Amaanat Sidhu of Municipal Corporation finished at the third place.

In 800m race (girls’ U-14), Simran Kaur of Doraha, Chandni Kumari of Machhiwara and Archna Kumari of Machhiwara secured the top three positions while in triple jump event, Khushpreet Kaur of Raikot clinched the top spot. Komalpreet Kaur and Jaismeen Kaur finished at the second and third place, respectively.

In 800m race (girls U-21), Veerpal Kaur emerged victorious, followed by Sukhvir Kaur and Kirandeep Kaur, respectively, at the second and third positions.

At Government Girls College ground, Ludhiana, in kho-kho (girls’ U-14), Sahibajpura team won the top position. Government Senior Secondary School, Sidhwan Khurd, secured the second place and Government High School, Bhumal village, finished third while in the girls’ 21 section, Ghalib Kalan village, secured the top position while Government Girls College, Ludhiana, and GMT International School finished at the second and third place, respectively.
