Gurleen Kaur Dhillon and Gursimrat Kaur Chahal, both from Ludhiana, along with Manya Ralhan of Jalandhar and Seeza of Sangrur, claimed victories in their respective quarter-finals in the girls’ singles section to secure berths in the last four stages in the ongoing Junior (U-19) Punjab State Badminton Tournament being held at Shastri Hall near Guru Nanak Stadium here on Wednesday.

Gurleen beat Pirachi Singh of Muktsar (21-9 and 21-13) and Gursimrat defeated Manmeet Kaur of Gurdaspur (21-11 and 21-9) to enter the semi-final. Manya proved too good for Diza Garag of Moga, whom she edged out easily (21-6 and 21-4) while Seeza warded off stiff resistance against Anupama Sharma from Ludhiana before wrapping up the issue (21-6 and 21-19) to complete the semi-final line-up.

In the girls’ doubles quarter-finals, Manmeet Kaur of Gurdaspur and Seeza of Sangrur got the better of Pirachi Singh of Muktsar and Sania of Jalandhar (21-12 and 21-17) while Manya Ralhan and Simran Gilhotra of Jalandhar got walkover against Ananya Sharma of Jalandhar and Soynaz of Amritsar to book their berths in the semi-final.
