Green Land Convent School organises athletics meet
Green Land Convent School, located in New Subhash Nagar, Basti Jodhewal, here, recently hosted a dynamic Inter-Class and Inter-House Athletic Meet for students from Pre-Nursery to Class IX and Class XI. The event was divided into two segments — Inter-Class competitions for Pre-Nursery to Class V and Inter-House competitions for classes VI to IX and XI — showcasing a wide range of athletic activities aimed at promoting teamwork, sportsmanship and physical fitness.
The Inter-Class Meet for Pre-Nursery to Class V featured engaging and skill-building activities, such as balancing races, sack races, obstacle courses and tug-of-war. These events were met with great enthusiasm, sparking joy and excitement among the young participants. The colourful displays of energy captivated the audience and set an upbeat tone for the day.
For students in Classes VI to IX and XI, the meet offered a series of high-energy track and field events, including 100m, 200m and 400m races, as well as the thrilling 4x100m relay. Field events such as the long jump and shot put added to the excitement, with competitors showcasing remarkable strength, agility and determination. The day commenced with an impressive march past by the four houses, symbolising discipline, unity and team pride.
Dr Rajesh Rudhra, the chairman of the Green Land Schools chain, praised the students for their participation, emphasising the role of sports in shaping leadership skills and character. He highlighted sports instill essential life values, such as perseverance, discipline and teamwork, urging students to apply these lessons in their daily lives.
The principal, Dr Jyoti Sachdev Pujara expressed pride in both the students’ performances and the staff’s efforts in organising the event. She noted the athletic meet was a testament to the school’s commitment to holistic education, blending academic learning with physical and emotional development. She congratulated the winners and encouraged all participants to continue striving for excellence.
