Five booked for misbehaving with traffic cops
Five car-borne youths misbehaved with traffic police personnel when the latter stopped their at a naka for not wearing a seat belt while driving the car. The youngsters parked their car in the middle of the road and misbehaved with the policemen. The police also videographed the incident.
The Sadar police registered a case against five persons. One of them was identified as Jatinder Gorian.
City traffic zone in-charge Kuldeep Singh said Jatinder was coming in a car with four persons from the Pakhowal Chowk side. He was not wearing a seat belt while driving the vehicle. The traffic police personnel signalled to stop the car. He parked the car in the middle of the road and obstructed the work of the police officials deployed on duty. When the latter videographed the incident and asked him to leave, Jatinder, along with his companions, misbehaved with the policemen.
In the video of the incident, which also surfaced on social media, Jatinder and his companions were seen having heated arguments with traffic policemen.
The friends of Jatinder told mediapersons that traffic police stopped their car on the road and they did not misbehave with the officials. After the altercation, the PCR squad also reached the spot.
The police said after registering the FIR, further investigation was launched to identify the other four persons.
