Ensure lifting of waste from parks, officials told
Municipal Corporation (MC) Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal directed officials of the horticulture branch to ensure removal of horticulture waste from the parks and roadsides. Further, the health officials were directed to ensure segregated lifting of waste from the households and static compactor sites.
The directions were issued during a meeting held by the MC Commissioner at the MC Zone A office on Wednesday. MC Additional Commissioner Paramdeep Singh, Joint Commissioner Ankur Mahindroo, CSO Ashwani Sahota, JE Kirpal Singh, chief sanitary inspectors (CSI), sanitary inspectors (SI) among other officials were also present in the meeting.
Dachalwal also directed the health branch officials to keep a check on the bulk waste generators in the city and ensure that they dispose of their waste on their own.
Directions were also issued to remove the garbage vulnerable points (GVP) during the ongoing cleanliness drive in the city. Further the health branch officials were directed to ensure collection of segregated waste from the houses and static compactor sites. The officials were also directed to act against those failing to hand over segregated dry and wet waste to the garbage collectors as per solid waste management rules.
Dachalwal said strict directions were issued to the health branch officials to ensure cleanliness across the city. Moreover, the horticulture branch was directed to prepare a schedule to ensure lifting of waste on a regular basis.
