Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) announced the launch of the ‘Swasth Nari Abhiyan,’ a pivotal initiative designed to enhance women’s health and hygiene. The programme was inaugurated today at the Urban Health Centre (UHC) in Shimlapuri.

UHC Shimlapuri, part of the Department of Community Medicine at the DMCH, plays a crucial role as a training centre for interns, undergraduates and nursing students.

Since June, the UHC has been offering obstetrics and gynaecology OPD services from 8.00 am to 8.00 pm (weekdays) with indoor day care admissions now available. As many as 14 conventional deliveries and two C-section deliveries have been performed since June.

The initiative provides free normal deliveries and subsidised cesarean deliveries, along with other services such as ultrasound at reduced rates, free vaccinations for antenatal patients and complimentary blood investigations for antenatal patients.
