DAV, BRS Nagar judokas win overall trophy
Students of DAV Public School, Bhai Randhir Singh Nagar branch, gave a good account of themselves to win the overall trophy in the judo competition in the girls’ U-14 section in the State-Level DAV Schools Sports, held at Police DAV School ground, Jalandhar. They won three gold, two silver medals and an equal number of bronze medals in the different weight categories.
Bhumika secured the gold in below 23kg weight group while Haizel Thukral and Krishna Sachdeva too won gold medals in below 36kg and below 44kg weight categories. Yadvi Dhanda clinched silver in below 36kg weight section and Hiti Jain finished runners-up in the below 40kg weight group to annex the silver.
Two bronze medals were bagged by Vidhushi Gupta in below 50kg weight category and Agamjot Kaur in below 60kg weight group.
Bhumika, Haizel, Yadvi, Hiti Jain and Krishna Sachdevda have been selected to participate in the forthcoming DAV Schools National Championship. The school management congratulated the players and their coach Amandeep Singh on brining fame to the school.
