Couple shot at over Rs 10K in Dakha, 1 held
A woman running a grocery shop and her husband were shot at outside their house in the Prem Nagar area of ??Mullanpur town of Ludhiana last night. The accused identified as Surinder Shinda, a resident of Hissowal village, has been arrested. The injured woman alleged that they were shot at over Rs 10,000 money dispute.
“One of my acquaintance needed money and I had asked Shinda to lend money to my acquaintance. I told him that the money would be returned on time. Part payment was done to the him. However, the accused misbehaved with me while demanding the pending amount. When I called my husband Raj Kumar, the accused opened fire at us,” alleged the complainant.
After the incident, the injured couple was first sent to a nearby hospital, from where both were referred to the Civil Hospital, Ludhiana. Seeing their critical condition, the doctors referred them to CMC Hospital, Ludhiana. Two bullets hit the woman while her husband Raj Kumar Yadav was hit by one bullet.
The police said the accused is a property dealer and has been arrested.
