The police today attached properties of two smugglers whose market value is stated to be around Rs 1.48 crore. Smugglers had bought this property from the proceeds of the drug sale.

The police have already frozen property worth several crores of drug smugglers in the recent past. Several property attachment cases are under process. Soon a competent authority would issue notices of property attachment. Kuldeep Singh Chahal, Police Commissioner

As per statement of Ludhiana Police Commissioner (CP) Kuldeep Singh Chahal given in 2023, the Salem Tabri police station had arrested a drug smuggler identified as Mandeep Singh, alias Manna, and recovered 265 gram heroin from him. Today, his house at Peeru Banda Salem Tabri was attached by the police. The market value of property was stated to be Rs 36.40 lakh.

Another smuggler identified as Neeraj Chahal, a resident of Nurmahal, Jalandhar, was arrested by the Division No. 3 police and 16.350 kg of poppy husk, 750 gram of opium and 4,600 intoxicating tablets were recovered from him. Today, his property worth Rs 1.11 crore was seized by the police. A notice of attachment was pasted on the properties in both the cases.

The CP said the police had already frozen property worth several crores of drug smugglers in the recent past. He said several property attachment cases were under process. Soon a competent authority would issue notices of property attachment, the CP added.
