City gymnasts made their presence felt by finishing among the position holders in gymnastics during the State-Level Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan organised by the Punjab Sports Department at different venues across the state. Competitions in gymnastics were held at Patiala.

These gymnasts, trainees of the coaching centre, run here at the multipurpose indoor hall, opposite Guru Nanak Stadium, secured medals in the boys’ U-14 and U-17 categories.

In U-14 section, Jaideep Singh, student of Class III, at Police DAV Public School, Civil Lines clinched two medals in individual events. He secured the silver in floor exercise and won the bronze in table vault discipline.

Harsh Kamboj, student of Green Land Senior Secondary School, Jalandhar bypass branch, secured the silver medal in table vault event in the same age group while another trainee of the centre, Rhydam Sharma, student of Shamrock Christian School, Hambran road bagged the bronze. He finished second runners-up in the pommel horse event. Besides, in the boys’ U-17 group, Lavith Verma, student of DAV Public School, BRS Nagar branch, annexed one silver and one bronze medal. In the table vault event, he clinched the silver medal and won bronze in floor exercise.
