Campus notes: Shamrock School
Students of Shamrock School celebrated Diwali just before the break for the much-awaited festival. Decorated in vibrant hues, the school campus had an ambience of joy and happiness. Students promised to celebrate green Diwali and not burn fire-crackers to keep the environment pollution-free. Religious fervour added to the celebrations as the little ones came dressed up as different characters from the Ramayana and enchanted all. Welcoming the festival of light, the students participated in various activities like candle decoration, slogan-writing, etc. They also made beautiful rangolis with the help of their teachers. Students lighted earthen lamps and decorated the candles. The teachers told them the story of the ‘Epic Ramayana’ and its significance. Students of the primary section made beautiful cards and exchanged gifts. Sweets and chocolates were distributed to all the students. Principal P Singh said such celebrations are required to teach children about the importance of Indian festivals.
Nankana Sahib Public School
Football players of Nankana Sahib Public School excelled in the Under-19 boys’ football tournament organised here recently. The budding players scored first position in the tournament, which was organised by Ludhiana Sahodaya Schools Complex at Anand Isher Public School, Ahmedgarh. School Principal Harmeet Kaur Waraich congratulated the winners and the teachers. She said, “Hundred per cent effort in games always pays back. It is an outcome of your effort. I wish you may emerge victorious in all future events.”
Drishti Dr RC Jain Innovative School
Students of grade V of Drishti Dr RC Jain Innovative Public School gave a beautiful presentation on Diwali, with the goal of sensitising students and others about child labour taking place in the cracker factories. Different speeches, poems and roleplays were organised to spread awareness regarding the harmful effects of pollution on humans, animals and nature. Students stressed upon the thought of making this diwali green and safe. Dr Manisha Gangwar, Principal of the school, said she truly appreciated the students’s thoughtfulness and efforts and wished everyone a safe, happy and prosperous Diwali.

The vibrant celebration of Diwali lit up the campus of DAV Public School at Pakhowal Road in Ludhiana. The event brought together students, teachers and other staff in a colourful and joyful event, which was filled with creativity, culture and environmental consciousness. The celebration began with an attractive display of rangolis made by students across all grades. Each rangoli, designed with intricate patterns and vivid colours, embodied the spirit of Diwali, symbolising prosperity and joy. The school corridors and classrooms were equally adorned with handmade decorations, giving the whole campus a festive look.

Diwali, the ‘festival of lights’, was celebrated with much fervour at Shri Harkrishan Sahib Public Senior Secondary School. The day was marked by a special assembly in the school, which highlighted the message of ‘Green Diwali, Clean Diwali’. Decorated with lights and vibrant hues, the school had an ambience of joy and happiness. The students showcased the spirit of Diwali by participating in various inter house competitions and marched in a Anti-Fire Cracker Rally creating awareness among people. The assembly concluded with the speech of Principal Poonam Sharma, who emphasised on clean and green diwali.
