Ludhiana: One-day NSS camp themed ‘Swachhta hi Seva Hai’ was organised at Sri Aurobindo College to promote cleanliness and sustainability, aligning with the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The event commenced with a pledge for cleanliness, followed by a rejuvenating meditation session led by Umang. Volunteers visited Jagannath Temple and gaushala, where they demonstrated compassion and kindness by feeding animals, further instilling a sense of responsibility towards all living beings. They participated in a large-scale cleanliness drive across Jhande village and on the college campus. A rally was also held to raise awareness about hygiene, with participants encouraging the community to take responsibility for their surroundings.

Spring Dale School organised an insightful workshop, ‘Roadmap to Play-Based Learning,’ for its kindergarten teachers. The workshop, conducted by Sonia Verma, deputy director, and KG teachers, focused on innovative teaching methods filled with fun and play. The event began with the traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, inaugurated by dignitaries. The workshop featured interactive games and a puppet show, showcasing creative ways to make teaching fun and effective. It aimed at telling teachers that stories, poems, games and puppet shows could open ways to reach out to a variety of learners in a class.

The NSS unit of the Malwa Central College of Education for Women under the leadership of principal Satwant Kaur launched the programme of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, GoI, ‘My Bharat Swachhata Hi Sewa’. Programme officers Dr Mandeep Kaur, Dr Rekha and Dr Sukhwinder Singh urged the students to participate in the programme being held in September and October. On this occasion, poster-making and slogan-writing competitions, NSS Day celebrations,orientation session about the NSS and My Bharat Portal, tree plantation drive, declamation contest, essay-writing competition, cleanliness drive at Ludhiana Civil Hospital, out of waste competition, one-day NSS camp, celebration of 155th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and online quiz were organised . Principal Satwant Kaur congratulated organisers and their team.
