Mohandai Oswal College of Nursing, Ludhiana, hosted a landmark state-level conference on nursing, focusing on the recent advancements and innovations in the profession. The event, held on Wednesday, brought together experts, practitioners, and educators to discuss the evolving landscape of nursing and healthcare. Dr Puneet Girdhar, Registrar of the Punjab Nurses Registration Council (PNRC), Mohali, was the chief guest at the event. The guest of honour for the conference was Dr Deepika , SMO, Civil Hospital, Ludhiana. Chairman Jawahar Lal Oswal, the chief patron of the event, said, “The advancement of nursing education is crucial for the growth of the healthcare system, and we must continue to invest in the development of our future nurses.” A total of 18 colleges from across Punjab attended the event.

BCM School

BCM School organised an insightful session on cyber safety and security for the girls of Class XI on Wednesday, led by Archana Malhotra. The session aimed at creating awareness about responsible digital citizenship in an era dominated by technology. Malhotra highlighted the challenges faced by the current generation of ‘digital natives,’ who are highly exposed to technology. She discussed the layers of the internet, including the surface web, deep web, and dark web, and explained the risks associated with each. Emphasis was placed on the growing concern of increased screen time and its impact on physical and mental well-being during the session.

Police DAV Public School

Excitement and energy filled the air as the students of UKG participated in the annual sports meet at Police DAV Public School, Ludhiana. The meet featured a variety of fun and age-appropriate games, carefully crafted to contribute to the overall development of our young athletes. The event provided an opportunity for the students to engage in physical activity and have fun. Principal Dr Anu Verma and Neeraj Puri appreciated the efforts and participation of all students, encouraging them to continue exploring their passion for sports.

Green Land Convent School

Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana, added another jewel to its crown with a stellar performance in the Ludhiana Sahodaya School Complex (Central Zone) English Declamation Competition. The event witnessed participation from more than 30 students across two categories: Category I (classes IX and X) and Category II (classes XI and XII). Anvesha Sharma, competing in Category II, secured the winner’s trophy with her impactful declamation on ‘The Importance of Mental Health.’ Her eloquence, confidence, and understanding of the subject not only left the audience mesmerised but also received unanimous praise from the judges. They commended her ability to address such a significant and often overlooked issue with clarity and compassion, making her speech a memorable highlight of the event. In Category I, Tamanna represented the school with an equally commendable performance on ‘Freedom of Speech: A Fundamental Right or a Double-Edged Sword.’ Her compelling arguments and confident delivery were highly appreciated. School Chairman Dr Rajesh Rudhra and Principal Dr Jyoti Sachdev Pujara congratulated the participants for their dedication and commitment.

BCM School

Aryan Jain and Hardik Tuli of Class VIII of BCM School, Chandigarh Road, emerged victorious in ‘India AI Impact Festival 2024,’ a competition organised by CBSE in collaboration with Intel. They competed in the ‘AI Creators’ junior category and submitted their project, ‘Sign Sense,’ which was an innovative solution aimed at improving communication for deaf and mute persons. The project employed advanced AI technology to bridge the gap between those with hearing and speech impairments and the wider community, enabling seamless and effective interaction. Their exceptional performance brought great pride to the school. Principal DP Guleria extended his heartfelt congratulations to both the students, acknowledging their dedication and hard work. He said their success was a testament to the holistic development the school strived to provide its students.

Victoria Public School

In a significant initiative to foster scientific temper and innovation among school students, a special delegation from Chandigarh University (CU) visited Victoria Public School (VPS), Lehra. The event, organised as part of CU’s outreach programme, aimed to inspire young minds by showcasing advancements in science and technology and exploring career possibilities in scientific fields. The event witnessed active participation from students and staff. Speaking on the occasion, Milan, CU coordinator, said, “We believe that nurturing young minds at the grassroots level is crucial for the future of scientific innovation in India.”
