The school marked the birth anniversary of the revered sage Swami Virjanand, spiritual mentor to Swami Dayanand Saraswati and a key figure behind the Arya Samaj movement, with immense reverence and enthusiasm on Saturday. The celebrations began with the melodious chanting of mantras and bhajans by the students, which filled the atmosphere with a sense of peace and reverence. The students, with their soulful recitals, paid homage to Swami Virjanand’s teachings and dedication to Vedic principles. The poem on Bharatiya Sanskriti, presented by Aaradhya Singla (VI H), captured the essence of Swami Virjanand teachings.

Spring Dale Public School

The school marked World Animal Day with engaging activities aimed at raising awareness about animal conservation and fostering empathy towards animals among schoolchildren. The event featured the screening of a documentary and animated movie on animals, followed by an animal parade in which kindergarten students donned animal face masks and paraded through the campus, accompanied by a lively musical band. A key highlight was the ‘Feed the Bird’ activity, designed to teach students the value of compassion and care for animals.

Kamla Lohtia SD College

The sports students of the college brought laurels to the college by winning the team championship in the district handball competition in the U-21 category under the Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan, 2024, organised at Guru Nanak Stadium. The principal of the college, Dr Mohd Saleem, congratulated the students for the achievement and urged them to continue to strive for success.

BCM College of Education

A workshop on mental wellbeing through yoga was organised for the faculty members of the college. SD Yadav, Senior Vice President, HR, and Administrator, Metro Tyres, the Resource Person of the Day, deliberated on the relevance of yoga in the modern era, highlighting the benefits of yoga in augmenting the physical and mental health of individuals. He demonstrated different asanas, such as Bhramri asana, netrasan, padmasan, and yogi nidra.
