Ludhiana: Department of home science of Arya College Girls Section conducted an awareness programme on the safe use of liquified petroleum gas (LPG) in collaboration with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited and Rana Gas Agency. The initiative aimed to educate students and consumers on the responsible usage, handling and storage of LPG, ensuring safety at home and in the community. The programme featured a series of informative sessions, practical demonstrations and interactive discussions led by experts from Bharat Petroleum, along with representatives from Rana Gas Agency. A cooking competition was also organised on the occasion.

Malwa central college

Malwa Central College of Education for Women organised a creative workshop on resin art. Dr Tripta, associate professor, introduced the resource person Sherya. She showed the students how to prepare coasters and key chains in a creative way. Dr Harpreet Kaur thanked the resource person. Dr Satwant Kaur, principal of the college, applauded the efforts of the staff. As many as 60 students attended the workshop.

Panjab University regional centre

The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of University Institute of Laws, Panjab University Regional Centre, organised a stationery drive at The School for Deaf, Hambra road. This event was not merely about distributing supplies — it was about igniting hope and bringing smiles to the faces of underprivileged children. The event saw enthusiastic participation from students and volunteers, who generously devoted their time to this noble cause. The volunteers distributed stationery kits, notebooks and eatables, filling the children’s day with excitement and joy. The sheer happiness on the children’s faces was a testament to how a small act of giving can create a ripple of positivity. Their eyes lit up as they received the kits, which were more than just items — they symbolized support, care, and opportunity for a better future. Throughout the event, the volunteers engaged with the underprivileged, fostering a warm and inclusive atmosphere. These moments shared between the volunteers and the children emphasised the essence of giving `a— not just materially, but through time, attention and compassion.

Nankana Sahib Public School

A budding wrestler of Nankana Sahib Public School, Gill Park, got his victory registered in the district-level tournament held under Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan. Jagwinder Singh, a Class VII student, won the silver medal in wrestling in the U-14 category. The event took place at Sacred Soul School. Principal Harmeet Kaur Waraich congratulated the winning wrestler and teacher behind him. She said, “Good diet, regular practice and determination are key to success.” She emphasized that students should continue honing their skills in sports along with academics.

Bharatiya Vidya Mandir

Helping hands were extended by the students of BVM, Sector 39, in Daan Utsav — a Ludhiana Municipal Corporation initiative. In an effort to bring smile on the faces of the underprivileged BVMites contributed things of daily uses that would be further donated under the campaign.

BCM School

BCM School, Chandigarh road, organized class presentation for its foundational section. Class presentations play a vital role in developing students’ confidence and communication skills. With this objective, the UKG theme focused on sports, monuments, healthy and unhealthy food, musical instruments, indoor and outdoor games, The three-day class presentation commenced with the chanting of the Gayatri Mantra, followed by a series of events that left the audience spellbound. Students showcased their oratory talents by sharing insights on their respective themes, and the dance performance of the blooming buds was truly the icing on the cake.

Guru Nanak Public School

Mantekvir Singh Sidhu, a talented student from Guru Nanak Public School, Model Town Extension, made his school proud by winning the gold at the Junior Baseball National Championship held in Sangrur wherein teams from 19 states participated. Mantekvir’s impressive skills also earned him the all-rounder trophy. Principal Mona Singh said his dedication and hard work had paid off. She urged him to continue shining and making the school proud.
