BKU (Ekta Ugrahan) condemns Malwinder Singh Malli’s arrest, threatens stir
Terming the arrest of human rights activist Malwinder Singh Malli as an attack on freedom of expression, office-bearers and activists of Bhartiya Kisan Union (Ekta Ugrahan), Ludhiana, during a meeting, have threatened to launch an agitation in case the government did not withdraw the case registered against him.
The meeting was held under the supervision of district leader Sudagar Singh Ghudani and Rajinder Singh Khatra at Butahri village near.
Accusing the AAP of adopting pressure tactics to suppress the voice of public leaders, Ghudani alleged the state government led by CM Bhagwant Mann was also toeing the footprints of other traditional political parties in contravention of promises made during the election campaign.
Speakers including Ghudani, Khatra, Charanjit Singh Phallewal and Jagjit Singh said unity among farmers during recent Morcha at Chandigarh had resulted in a situation when all stakeholders would be able to study the draft of the new agricultural police, before it is implemented.
