BJP Sankalp Patra vows 24x7 water supply
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched its Sankalp Patra for the MC elections on Monday in the presence of senior leader Avinash Rai Khanna and Union Minister Ravneet Bittu at the BJP office.
The BJP has promised to divide the city into six zones instead of only four. Khanna promised if residents give majority to the BJP, then the mayor would have all the rights to get as many as funds for the city’ development.
List of promises
Construction of houses: The BJP will end the condition of building plans for construction of housing areas up to 100 square yards. Moreover, the MC will provide templates of 5-6 maps, which can be used for construction work. Special tax exemption will be given if the property is registered in the name of a woman. Dedicated vending zones for the street vendors.
Home for stray animals: Implementation of ‘Tap to Water’ programme under Amrit 2.0, so that every household gets 24x7 potable water supply. Special care homes for helpless animals in collaboration with non-governmental organisations (NGOs). Along with this, the BJP promised to make all areas rabies-free by the year 2029.
Infrastructure: Increase the green area of the city and beautify them with open gym and recreational facilities Construction of over bridge near Chand cinema will be ensured in record time.
Cleaning of Buddha Dariya: The cleaning of Buddha Nullah will be done on priority and improvement of public water supply connected to it. A board/committee will be constituted for this purpose, consisting of representatives of all concerned parties, experts in pollution control and members of institutions and members of the nearest nagar panchayats.
Waste management: The BJP promised to implement a waste management system in the city and ensure removal of waste dumps in Jamalpur and Giaspura areas. Bioremediation processes will be used to reclaim the municipal land.
Sewerage: A drive will be launched for cleaning and repairing sewage pipelines in the city, giving priority to the old city. New sewage pipelines will also be laid in Rahon Road and Shivaji Nagar areas. The BJP promised to recruit more sanitation workers
Transport: Ludhiana’s industrial transport network will be improved, public bus service will be introduced. The construction works of many bus depots will be speeded up.
Elimination of pollution: Smog towers will be installed in the most congested areas of the city. Public services convenience centres for all government services will be established across the city.
Public safety: The saffron party promised to install CCTV cameras in high-traffic roads, residential areas to ensure the safety of residents. We will work to run all street lights in the city on solar energy, said the BJP leaders.
Honour to soldiers: Special concessions in municipal tax to soldiers.
