Held protest against state govt for its failure to open new CHC building

Neetu Singh protests in front of the CHC, Doraha, along with other BJP workers, before she was arrested by the Doraha police on Thursday.

BJP spokesperson Neetu Doraha alias Santosh Kumari, who has been a prominent figure in raising her voice against the AAP government for its failure to open up the newly constructed building of CHC, Doraha for the past quite some time, has been arrested on charges of forgery by the Doraha police. She was presented in the court today and sent to judicial custody.

According to the complainant Rishi Dev of Ward Number 11, Guru Nanak Nagar, Amloh road, Khanna said that Neetu Singh of Payal along with a bank employee Amarinderpal Singh of Dholewal in Fatehgarh Sahib district, duped him of Rs 14.5 lakh on the pretext of sending his daughter abroad. He also alleged that the accused took the passport and education related documents of his daughter on the pretext of sending her abroad and charged a fee of Rs 14.5 lakh. The complainant told the police that neither was his daughter sent abroad nor was his money returned.

According to SSP, Khanna, Ashwani Gotyal, the complaint was filed by Rishi Dev at Doraha police station a month ago. “Since then, an inquiry was going on and the information related to the case was being collected. With sufficient proofs, the police registered a case against her and her accomplice under Sections 406, 420, 120 B, 467, 468 and 471 of the IPC.

The police arrested Neetu Singh and presented her in the court today from where she was sent to judicial custody. This is the third FIR registered against Neetu Singh, the other two being at Jagraon and Doraha.”

“Her arrest has nothing to do with the BJP or for that matter the protest which she started for the opening of the CHC at Doraha,” the SSP added.

Neetu Singh along with the social workers of Doraha sat on a three-day hunger strike last month in front of the CHC Doraha building to protest against the indifferent attitude of the government towards the poor medical facilities being accorded.

She had, however, resumed the protest a day before but was booked for forgery the very next day and arrested for being presented in the court for judicial custody.
