Baseball Championship: Ludhiana, Ferozepur eves secure berths in final

Ludhiana and Ferozepur registered wins to secure berths in the final in the girls’ section in the 11th Sub-Junior Punjab State Baseball Championship being held at Government Girls Senior Secondary School ground, Gill village, near here today.
In the semi-final, Ludhiana scored a thumping 20-6 win over Kapurthala in which the main contributors were Jasmeet, Anamika, Gurpreet Kaur, Neha and Rupa while Ferozepur survived a scare against Sangrur before emerging victorious 11-9. Hasan and Rubal played well to help their side win a place in the final.
Earlier, in the league matches, Patiala beat Fatehgarh Sahib 2-1, Kapurthala trounced Ropar 3-1, Bathinda outmanoeuvred Mansa 3-2, Ferozepur beat Moga 2-0, Sangrur outpaced Patiala 10-7, Kapurthala beat Malerkotla 12-9, Ludhiana trumped Bathinda 10-0 and Ferozepur beat Barnala 16-2.
