Avoid adulterated sweets, women told
The food and nutrition experts of the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) called upon the women members of the PAU Kisan Club to avoid purchasing ready-made sweets during the festival season as there were high chances of adulteration in view of surge in demand. In total, 80 women members of the club attended the camp, held under the guidance of Dr MS Bhullar, Director of Extension Education, today.
Dr Rupinder Kaur, Associate Director (Skill Development), advised the rural women to prepare nutritious sweets at home for better health, nutritional security as well as monetary benefits.
Dr Amarjit Kaur, food and nutrition expert, shared the tips for the preparation of safe, clean, healthy and nutritious sweets. Experts Kuldeep Kaur, Daiyadeep Kaur and Kajal demonstrated the making of alsi and coconut laddoos, and kaju-katli.
