ISRO hosted a three-day space exhibition at Gulzar Group of Institutions, Khanna. More than 12,000 students attended the event and had the opportunity to interact with the space body’s scientists. The primary aim of the exhibition was to raise awareness on space science and technology among school and college students. ISRO’s achievements over the last 50 years, as well as upcoming missions, were highlighted.
The exhibition covered ISRO’s history and conceptualisation, as well as details about India’s space programme and the organisation’s future plans. Vikram Sarabhai Space Exhibition’s mobile exhibition included a display panel about remote sensing and communication satellites, navigation, Chandrayaan, the Mars Orbiter Mission, satellite images and applications.
The exhibition also included models of the Mangalyaan camera, scaled-down versions of the launch vehicles PSLV and GSLV, satellites INSAT, IRS, Aryabhata, RISAT, among others. The exhibition also featured a working model of satellites orbiting the earth. Besides, several video documentaries about spacecraft development and the Mars mission were screened.
To enhance engagement, numerous competitions were organised. Disha Dave, Happy G Patel and Happy M Patel from ISRO highlighted the organisation’s space history and India’s historic journey to the Moon (Chandrayaan 3), which was the world’s first successful soft-landing on the Moon’s South Pole.
