10 tantrics held for duping people of lakhs of rupees

The Dugri police claimed to have arrested 10 tantriks who used to mislead people by giving advertisements on social media. When people fall into their trap, they threaten them and make them deposit money in their accounts.

ADCP, Zone-2, Dev Singh, ACP (South) Harjinder Singh and Dugri SHO Hemraj Singh issued a joint statement in this regard on Friday.

They said the suspects had been cheating people on the pretext of doing bewitchment at the behest of the victims. They have duped the victims of lakhs of rupees.

The suspects have been identified as Ahad, Mohammad Faizal, Aas Mohammad, Mohammad Shoyab, Irshad, Mohammad Shahzad, Shakir, Shaukeen, Aamir and Anwar Ahmed. During interrogation it was revealed that the criminals also keep stolen mobiles and vehicles. The police recovered 24 mobiles, a bike, a scooty and five registers from them.

The suspects used to trap people in their net and get money deposited in their bank accounts. The fraudsters stay at one place for one-and-a-half month. After collecting money, they change their location and start targeting other people.
