One person succumbed to coronavirus, while 52 tested positive for it in the district today.
Fourteen patients were on ventilator support, out of whom three belonged to Ludhiana district and 11 to other districts.
The person who lost his life today was a 38-year-old male, a resident of Tajpur Road. The victim was a heart patient as well. He was admitted to SPS Hospital.
Till date, 53,778 persons have been kept under home quarantine in the district and at present, the number of such persons is 2,464. Today, 154 persons were sent for home quarantine. There are 546 active patients in the district at present.
A total of 52 new patients from Ludhiana district and 12 from other states/districts have tested positive for Covid in the last 24 hours.
A total of 5,06,428 samples have been taken, out of which the reports of 5,04,375 samples have been received. Of these, 4,76,651 samples were found negative, while the reports of 2,053 samples were pending.
According to the Health Department, the total number of patients related to Ludhiana was 24,184, while 3,540 patients were related to other districts/states. Now, the total number of persons who lost their lives included 943 people from Ludhiana and 421 from other districts.
The Health Department and the district administration have appealed to residents of the city to follow all directions of the Punjab Government to stay safe and also contribute to the safety of others around them.
