The Sahnewal police station today claimed to have solved a murder case within 24 hours with the arrest of the accused. The accused has been identified as Sarabjit Singh (25), alias Savi, a resident of Umaidpur village.

The police said on September 1, Jagdev Singh, alias Jagga, (55) of Umaidpur was killed and his body was found in a park. Next day, deceased’s sister Rajwinder Kaur blamed Sarabjit Singh for the murder. The police after getting a tip off about the location of the accused arrested him.

Notably, the accused had killed Jagdev by hitting a cement plate on his head.
