Ludhiana district players (men and women) continued to dominate on the second day of the 74th Senior Punjab Basketball Tournament being organised in the memory of Arjuna awardee Gurdial Singh Malhi at Gureh village near Jagraon in this district on Tuesday.

Yesterday, Ludhiana men had recorded an easy win over Fatehgarh Sahib and Ludhiana women too had defeated Patiala. Today, Ludhiana women scripted a 61-22 win over Jalandhar while Ludhiana men outperformed Amritsar 70-61 to enter the league phase.

In other matches, Faridkot men, after a slugfest, managed to outplay Hoshiarpur 88-84 and in the women’s section, Gurdaspur outwitted Bathinda 46-21. Based on performance during this championship, Punjab teams will be finalised to attend a coaching camp prior to their participation in the 74th Senior National Basketball Championship at Bhavnagar in Gujrat.
