Ludhiana: MLA , MC chief kick-start Buddha Nullah road project
In a major development for citizens residing in the vicinity of the Buddha Nullah, Ludhiana North MLA Madan Lal Bagga and Municipal Corporation (MC) Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal kickstarted the project to construct road on the other side of the nullah on Monday.
Under this project, around three-km-long road alongside the nullah from Haibowal main puli till Chand Cinema puli would be constructed at a cost of around Rs 5.83 crore. Under the first phase, the road portion from Kundanpuri to Chandan Nagar puli would be constructed.
MLA Bagga said the project was a major challenge, but he was committed to taking up the project for the betterment of the residents who had been extending continuous support to him.
Bagga said the project would not only streamline the movement of traffic in the area, but would also trigger development at large. For the safety of residents, a concrete wall has been constructed along the banks of the nullah. They would be monitoring this project on a regular basis.
Further, Bagga and Dachalwal appealed to the residents to avoid encroaching upon the road portion otherwise strict action would be taken against them.
