Shimla, August 30

As many as 40 roads continue to be obstructed across the state due to heavy rainfall over the past few days. Nineteen water supply schemes and seven power distribution transformers are also disrupted in various parts of the state. On Friday, Shimla and nearby places received light to moderate rainfall.

In Rampur, three persons had a providential escape when a landslide hit their vehicle near the Lada nullah on the Taklech-Rampur road in Rampur subdivision. The trio got out in the nick of time before rocks and debris hit their car. An alert driver noticed the hill cracking and immediately reversed the car. The trio sustained minor injuries.
