Lord Macaulay’s policies destroyed our education system, says Governor
Hamirpur, July 27
Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla today said Lord Macaulay’s education policy worked against the Indian education system and destroyed it.
Shukla said this during the inauguration of Vidya Bharti North Zone Principal’s Workshop at Seven Star School at Bani in Barsar sub-division of the district. He lauded the Vidya Bharati’s work towards the promotion of Indian culture and values and contribution in the upliftment of the society. He said students who passed from here were performing excellent in different walks of life.
The Governor said teachers associated with Vidya Bharati were working towards realising the vision for a transformative and progressive education system. He said Vidya Bharati was taking a good initiative in the implementation of the National Education Policy.
Shukla said the National Curriculum 2023 was a milestone in the new educational journey of the country. He said it reflected our commitment to creating an environment that fosters the holistic development of students, prepare them to face challenges with confidence and teach creativity and perseverance. He appealed to the teachers to work towards creating a vibrant, inclusive and dynamic education system that would enable every child to use his full potential. He released books published by Vidya Bharti based on the rich Indian culture on the occasion.
Earlier, Des Raj Sharma, a ‘mahamantri’ of Vidya Bharti Uttar Kshetra, detailed the activities of Vidya Bharti in the country in the education sector. School MD Sandeep Kanwar honoured the Governor. Lacal MLA Inder Dutt Lakhanpal and other dignitaries were also present.
