Lok Sabha MP Rashid chairs key review meeting in Bandipora
Lok Sabha MP Sheikh Abdul Rashid chaired a crucial review meeting at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Bandipora, where he reviewed ongoing developmental projects and addressed critical issues affecting the district.
A statement by Rashid’s party said the meeting emphasised the importance of timely execution of public projects and enhancing service delivery across various sectors, with a focus on infrastructure, health and education.
During his visit to Bandipora, Rashid also inaugurated the MP grievance office and launched a dedicated phone number—95411 13266—to streamline the process of addressing public grievances.
“The initiative aims to ensure more effective communication between the public and their representative, allowing for quicker redressal of issues,” he said.
He also visited Dawar in Gurez to meet families affected by a recent fire. In a gesture of solidarity, he donated his entire one-month salary to provide immediate relief to the victims. He also spoke with higher officials, urging them to expedite the compensation process to help those impacted.
Rashid also met with members of the Travel Agents Association of Kashmir (TAAK) to explore the tourism potential of Gurez and emphasised the importance of developing Gurez as a key tourism destination to create employment opportunities for local youth and stimulate the region’s economy, the statement said.
Additionally, Rashid met with senior Army authorities in Gurez to discuss smooth movement of civilians for agricultural purposes in areas lying beyond the fencing.
Army authorities assured the MP of immediate redressal of the issue, enabling farmers to access their land safely, the statement said.
