A national Lok Adalat was held in Panchkula and Kalka on September 14. The Lok Adalat was organised at District and Sessions Court under the guidance of Haryana State Legal Services Authority SP Singh and District Legal Services Authority Ved Prakash Sirohi.

Cases such as traffic challans and online challans were taken up. Officials had constituted seven benches, and six of them were at the Panchkula District Court and one was at the Kalka Sub-Divisional Court.

DLSA Secretary Ajay Kumar Ghanghas said cases including family matters, MACT Cases, 138 NI Act Cases, Violation of Traffic Rules and others were heard. He said 10,992 cases were taken up and 9,533 were disposed of.

He said Jail Lok Adalat was organised twice a month on the first and third Wednesday at the Ambala Central Jail, where cases related to electricity, water and others at the pre-litigation stage could be settled by filing them at the Permanent Lok Adalat.
