LITTERING near vegetable market in the industrial town Baddi has resulted in unhygienic conditions there. Stray animals, feed on such waste which also includes plastic bags that are callously thrown there by the residents. Consumption of plastic by animals can prove fatal for them and people must act responsibly before doing such acts. The municipal authorities should ensure proper garbage disposal at designated sites and take steps to keep a check on littering at public places.

Dogs lunge at strangers on mall road

MANY people put a long leash on their pet dogs while going out for a walk with them on the Shimla’s Mall Road. These dogs often lunge at other people, mostly playfully, making them skip a heartbeat. On being complained, the owners usually smile back and are ready with the standard answer: “My dog doesn’t bite.” The civic body authorities must look into the issue and take some steps to ensure people’s safety.
