In Sirsa, the Excise Department has sealed a liquor shop for violating regulations on a designated dry day. The administration declared October 2, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, as a dry day.

The Excise Department team conducted a raid at a liquor shop in Farwahi Kalan village, where they found the shop open and a salesman selling alcohol. Due to the violation of the Excise Policy for 2024-25, the shop has been sealed for one week.

Alok Pasi, Deputy Excise and Taxation Commissioner, stated that the team included Assistant Excise and Taxation Officer Sukhbir Singh and Excise Inspector Ashok Kumar. In compliance with the Election Commission’s orders for the Haryana Assembly Elections 2024, all liquor-related businesses will be closed from 6 pm on October 3 until the end of voting on October 5.
