A liquor businessman allegedly pointed a revolver at a 12-year-old boy during an altercation involving children, including his son, playing football in a park in Lagoon Apartments, DLF Phase 3, on Tuesday evening.

The incident escalated when the businessman’s son informed him of the argument. The accused, identified as Pratek Sachdeva, reportedly carried a licensed revolver to the park, verbally abused the children and pointed the weapon at one of them.

A viral video of the incident shows a woman, believed to be the accused’s wife, running to stop him and taking him away from the scene. Another woman, reportedly the victim’s mother, is seen screaming from the sixth floor of a nearby building. Following the incident, the victim was traumatised and sent to a relative’s home by his family.

After the child’s father filed a complaint, the police registered an FIR against the accused under Section 351 of the BNS and the Arms Act at the DLF Phase 3 police station. The police seized the accused’s licensed revolver.

“Sachdeva was arrested and his revolver seized. He was released on bail after he joined the investigation,” said a senior police officer.
