Magic in the air: RoZéO aerial spectacle mesmerises tricity folks
An extraordinary aerial show captivated the audiences at the Nexus Elante Mall on Saturday. The show was organised by the French Institute in India in collaboration with the Alliance Française network in India.
The acclaimed French company Gratte Ciel, renowned for their acrobatic and meditative performances, presented RoZéO, a performance that stormed the opening of the Olympic Games in Paris, 2024. Two shows were held at 5 pm and 8 pm.
RoZéO, created by Stéphane Girard and Camille Beaumier, with compositions by Pauline Frémeau and costumes by Anne Jonathan, stood as a unique living installation that encouraged viewers to observe and immerse themselves in the experience set against the backdrop of the sky. The swaying figures, gently perched on metal poles (six metres in height), moving as if guided by an invisible breath of wind.
Accompanied by a live musician and a soundscape featuring electronic and field recordings, the 42-minute performance created a contemplative atmosphere where art and nature intertwined. Following their Olympic performance, as part of the opening show curated by artistic director Thomas Jolly, the company has solidified its reputation for engaging communities with mesmerising productions that leave a lasting impact.
Nexus Elante Mall in association with the Ambassade de France, Institut Français, and Alliance Française Chandigarh, is also hosting a French Food and Cultural Fest on Saturday and Sunday at the Courtyard. The objective is to provide Tricity residents with a unique cultural and culinary experience that celebrates the rich heritage of France.
