This Dhanteras, I’m planning to buy a silver coin and gold jewellery for my family. I also intend to purchase some utensils as it’s considered auspicious. Yes, I try to make at least one significant purchase every Dhanteras, as it symbolises prosperity and good fortune. Every year on Dhanteras, my family and I follow the tradition of worshipping Lord Dhanwantari, the God of health and medicine. We also light diyas, offer prayers, and distribute sweets.

To keep up the tradition, I just bought a small silver coin. I will do puja of Lord Dhanvantari and Goddess Lakshmi. It is said one should light the first lamp outside the home in the south direction. This custom is believed to give longevity to the family members.
