‘Eat healthy, think positive & spread love’
Delhi boy Akshit Sukhija loved acting since childhood. He dreamt of being an actor during his school days and right after college he made sure to turn it into a reality. Even during his graduation days, he started modelling to get some exposure and understanding about the industry.
He started his career with the Colors’ show Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka in the year 2018, in which he played role of Tani’s brother Arnav. After this show, he appeared in the serial, Shubh Aarambh. In this one he is playing the main character Raja Reshammiya. Not a fitness freak, but this actor knows the importance of being healthy.
Fitness means
Fitness is a need. To stay healthy and confident in life, one has to pay attention to his fitness.
My mantra
I try to be regular with the gym, say at least five times a week, but apart from that, I do push-ups and some stretching exercises at home daily.
Professional demand
I am in a profession where being fit is imperative. There are days when I do not feel like going to the gym or do any workout but I don’t skip it. I work for 12-13 hours a day and after such a long day, fatigue, laziness takes over. But the good thing is, once you hit the gym, you get started. Another big motivation is when you start seeing the difference in your body shape. That gives a kick too.
As the day begins
I start my day with 2-3 glasses of water. Then I check work-related messages, pray and spend some time with my parents. After all this, it’s time for some exercises at home, which includes push-ups and squats.
The meal basket
My breakfast is usually five boiled eggs, 8-10 soaked almonds and a few raisins. Once I reach work, I have a cup of tea and after a break of two hours it’s time for some fruit. Lunch is mostly the regular roti, sabzi and dahi. Evening snack includes pulao and dahi followed by a cup of tea after an hour. I have dinner at home and it’s similar to lunch. Being a Punjabi, there is a lot of variety for lunch and dinner. I make sure to eat home cooked food. Apart from this, once a week I have non-veg.
Sweet cravings galore
I would say I have a big sweet tooth. I can eat sweets, chocolates and waffles anytime of the day as much as possible. Jalebi, milk cake, motichoor ke ladoo, I love them all.
Can’t do without
Ma ke haath ki karhi and dal. Her karhi and dal are to die for. White sauce pasta with mushrooms and waffles are also something I can’t live without.
Keep away from
I’ve really checked my sweet intake and I hardly eat fried foods. When it comes to junk, if I used to have it nine times every week before becoming an actor, now it’s two times in two weeks.
Body and mind connection
When I feel fit, my mind is automatically happy and more at peace. It’s not about looking good; it’s more about being healthy. If you aren’t healthy, you feel low and depressed.
Choice of sport
I play badminton and cricket whenever I can steal some time from my shooting hours. I am into these sports big time.
For a healthy life
Eat healthy, think positive, stay happy, spread love, never give up and you will have a healthy life. Physical and mental health is more important than having a fit body or abs.
On days of travel
We hardly get time to travel and whenever I have those few days, I am not rigid about gymming. Sometimes I choose to skip workout when it’s a leisure trip. There has to be a balance.
Sleep counts
Sleep is very important for a healthy and a happy life. It is one of the most important things and should never be neglected. Sleep plays a huge role in keeping you fit. If you aren’t sleeping well, you aren’t able to meet your plans, be it related to fitness or it may be about work. You are not fresh and then there is no energy without sleep.
