Tell us about your background. Did you always want to be an actor?

I was an engineer by profession and yes, I always wanted to be an actor. I loved watching Sunny Deol, I used to copy him during my school and college times. His dialogues, his acting; he has always been my favourite.

When and how did you get your first break?

In terms of my first film break, it was for the movie Tubelight. Although it was a small cameo, it boosted my confidence.

Tell us about your role in Stage of Siege: Temple Attack.

I am playing Iqbal, one of the negative roles. It was a challenge to play that kind of character because the word ‘terrorist’ is a hated word in itself.

Any references or special preparations for the role of Iqbal?

We did many workshops in terms of dialogue and scene rehearsals. The most interesting part was that we were trained by professionals. Our trainer Sen sir was an ex- NSG officer. He helped me to get into the skin of the character. Like how to hold guns, how to shoot, how a terrorist talks and so on.

You have worked in films, TV and web. Which medium do you like?

I don’t restrict myself and never refuse anything if it’s a strong role irrespective of the medium. I want to do quality work. I live the character and enjoy it fully.

How was it working with Ram Gopal Varma in D Company?

It was just wow! RGV is such a genius and his way of working is something else. Working with him was one of the dreams which came true.

Any director on your wish-list?

I want to work with Rohit Shetty ji and Sanjay Leela Bhansali ji.

How is life in the pandemic? What has been your realisation in the lockdown?

The most important realisation was to keep myself motivated and positive. I am a very positive person and try to create positivity all around. I spent the lockdown doing workout at home and reading books.

Besides Stage of Siege, any other upcoming project?

Yes, currently I am doing a multi-lingual web series for a popular OTT platform. It is based on a true story and I am playing the negative lead in that. I will share more details soon.
